A specialist in piston-diaphragm pumps for 80 years
80 Years of Passion for Piston-Diaphragm Pumps
What began in Cologne in 1945 with Josef Emmerich and a few hand and centrifugal pumps has grown into an independent, medium-sized company headquartered in Hönningen-Liers—and a true success story. For 80 years, the name EMMERICH has stood for high-end technology in the pumping of abrasive suspensions in high-pressure applications.
Our strength: piston diaphragm pumps—from development and in-house diaphragm production to global distribution. Because we manage the entire value chain in-house, we can perfectly combine quality, reliability, and innovation.
As early as the 1950s, the first Emmerich pumps—thanks to savvy distribution partners—made their way as far as Taiwan and Canada. And who would have thought that the small hand pumps of the early years would one day become robust high-pressure systems for cutting-edge industrial applications?
Since 1975, we have also been producing rubber molded parts and rubber-to-metal assemblies in-house—this strengthens our independence and precision.
In 1995, we made another significant breakthrough: We were the first company to develop a pump with a polypropylene pump head—designed for high flow rates, up to 16 bar operating pressure, and temperatures up to 80 °C.
On November 20, 2025, we celebrated our 80th anniversary—and took another important step in the process: Josef Emmerich Pumpenfabrik GmbH became EMMERICH GmbH. A new name, but the same passion, the same commitment to quality, and a strong team looking to the future with enthusiasm.
EMMERICH – Tradition meets technology. For 80 years. And the excitement continues
